Get in Touch

Butler County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm custody, arrange a release, post a bond, or obtain an official booking record for you. Direct those needs to the agency that created or holds the record.

Official Butler County Contacts and Record Routes

Use the Butler County Sheriff’s Office when the sheriff made the arrest, the county jail holds the booking file, or you need current information about county custody. The correctional center is the county’s booking and release location, while other city police agencies keep their own incident and arrest records.

Hours: The public lobby is open 24 hours. BCSO records pickup is available 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

For a sheriff-held record or booking photograph, Central Records is the formal starting point. State the person’s name, approximate booking date, arresting agency, any report or booking number, and the record format sought. Ohio’s Public Records Act, ORC § 149.43, requires public offices to respond promptly within a reasonable period while allowing lawful redaction or withholding. The BCSO note that deputies have 72 hours to complete reports is not a promise that a booking photo will be produced within 72 hours.

Match the request to the arresting agency

  • For a Butler County sheriff arrest or a county-jail booking record, begin with BCSO Central Records and the home guide’s official custody and records path.
  • For an arrest report made by Hamilton Police, Middletown Police, or Fairfield Police, ask that city’s records office first. A later county booking does not make BCSO the creator of the city police report.
  • For current county custody, use the official Miami Valley Jails roster linked by BCSO. It is a current-custody tool, not a complete historical archive. Middletown also operates a city jail, so a person there may not appear on the county roster.
  • For a warrant or court-status question, use the issuing court or the BCSO route summarized on Most Wanted Fugitives. Do not treat an online result as final proof of active status.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction Offender Search. For federal or immigration custody, use the appropriate BOP Inmate Locator or ICE Online Detainee Locator.
